4. What Happens After We Receive a Valid Notice

If your DMCA notice is complete and valid:

  • We will acknowledge receipt
  • We may temporarily remove or disable access to the reported content
  • We may notify the user who posted the content
  • We may ask for additional verification, if required

Repeated infringement may lead to account restrictions or termination (if accounts exist on the site).

5. Counter-Notification (If Someone Disputes Your Claim)

If the person whose content was removed believes the removal was incorrect, they may file a DMCA Counter Notice.

A valid Counter Notice must include:

  1. Full legal name
  2. Contact email
  3. Identification of removed content
  4. A statement under penalty of perjury:
    “I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.”
  5. Consent to local jurisdiction
  6. Electronic signature

If a valid Counter Notice is received:

  • The content may be restored
  • Unless the original complainant files a legal action within 10–14 working days

6. Misuse of DMCA

Submitting a false, fraudulent, or malicious DMCA notice is illegal and may result in legal penalties.

  • Incomplete
  • False or misleading
  • Submitted in bad faith
  • Related to material not owned by the complainant
